Where the practices meet
These five are not an arbitrary list. In real projects they connect — and the seams between them are where most engagements stall.
- Software → DevOps. When the team that writes the product is the team that runs it, "where is this going to run" stops being a question that surfaces after delivery.
- DevOps → Operations. When whoever built the infrastructure also operates it, nothing gets lost in the handover.
- Game technology → Operations. A game server is a production system. The monitoring, capacity, and incident discipline are identical.
- AI → Infrastructure. Serving a model is as much an operations problem as a GPU problem. Treating those separately is the most common reason a deployment never stabilizes.
